Good morning! I am writing a micropost about my lastest photo discovery!
As you know, I’ve been doing my own Photoplayground for about a year already! Geez, time flies! I made it with a couple things in mind. First of all, I wanted to play with other photographers and see how one idea leads to different outcomes. Second, I wanted to try new things and push myself out of my comfort zone, shooting things I am not used to. In the end, that’s the only way of learning, right?
So, it has been awesome to discover another playground for photographers, built around challenges on GuruShots. I promise I am not being sponsored by them in anyway, (God knows I am so not that relevant, lol), but it did seem to me like a really interesting website, where you can promote your work, or at least show it, and you can evaluate its quality (kinda).
To be honest, I am suscribed to many photography sites, such as 500px, or Flickr and I have never known how to work them. I am not sure how to socialize there, how to make friends, connections… I have the feeling that nobody sees my pictures… I don’t know… They’re not really my cup of tea.
However, the GuruShots system is based on participating in particular challenges. Lets say: Artificial light, one of the challenges I am participating in right now. So, to choose the winner, they take all the users’ votes into account, and, to motivate them to vote they have this exposure boost: the more you vote, the more exposure you get.
I am so excited about this experience and all I am learning from looking at these other photographers’ pictures! That’s why I thought you might find it interesting too.
I am leaving you the link in case you want to check it out and join! Also, if you join through that link they’ll give you some autofills for your first challenges 😉
So now it’s time to shoot and enjoy!
