Photography playground: #5 Rule of the horizon

Rule of the Horizon

Hey, how’re you doing? I’ll be uploading soon the results of our fourht already, PhotoPlayground challenge! Have you submited yours? I hope you did, and you had fun, and you’ve practice and trained some useful photography skills, or at least had a blast photographing the last days of summer! It has been great to see all those amazing landscapes and feel your summer! Thanks for sharing and being a part of this!

During the next 15 days we will be working on our composition skills! We’re going to practice the rule of the horizon, it is an easy rule, and it is quite powerful on photography. As it happened with the rule of thirds, we have a tendency to shoot and get everything at the center of the picture. This is the natural way to shoot, and as long as it can work, the rule of the horizon usually makes pictures more dynamic, and drives the attention of the watcher for longer, which is actually something we search as photographers, right? People paying attention to our photography! What do we have to do then? We’ll have to set the horizon of out pictures on the upper or lower third of the picture.

What do you think about it? Are you gonna give it a try? I’ve posted these examples of my previous work with this rulestill I am going to keep shooting and create something new and better following it. I can’t wait to see your pictures!! Remember to post them on Instagram under the #PhotoPlayground5 hashtag! See you there, and remember that I will be featuring here the ones I like the most!

Lets go have some fun!
