Photography playground: #1 Rule of thirds

Tatatada tada! Are you ready? Are you excited!? Cause I surely am!! Sooooooooooo over the roof right now! We’re starting our own photography playground today! We’re going to improve our photography starting right now and working hard all over the week! Working together and pushing ourselves to be better photographers, one step at a time.

During the next 15 days we will be working on our composition skills! We’re going to practice the rule of thirds, it is an easy rule, and it is quite powerful on photography. We have a tendency to shoot and get everything at the center of the picture. This is the natural way to shoot, and as long as it can work, the rule of thirds usually makes pictures more dynamic, and drives the attention of the watcher for longer, which is actually something we search as photographers, right? People paying attention to our photography!

What do you think about it? Are you gonna give it a try? I’ve posted these examples of my previous work with the rule of thirds, still I am going to keep shooting and create something new and better following the rule. I can’t wait to see your pictures!! Remember to post them on Instagram under the #PhotoPlayground1 hashtag! See you there, and remember that I will be featuring here the ones I like the most!

Lets go have some fun!

Hey Nena! I love this!! So awesome!! So fun!!

But…. I may be a little silly here, but I’m not sure you explained exactly what the Rule of Thirds is! I got that you don’t shoot the subject in the centre? Sorry! I’m a lamens at photography!

In any case, I will be participating! Xxx

Hey Shar! So cool you wanna join!! Can’t wait to see your talent working! There’s a link on this post (click on the darken bold rule of thirds sentence) and is all explained there.

But the basics are that you’ve to think on your image as divided by two horizontal lines and two verticals. You’ve to try to place your subject on one of those lines! Even better if you can put the hyper center of attention on one of the crossings!

Don’t worry, superglad to help, keep asking if I explain myself super lamens too LOL

Hope you participate!! Is gonna be so much fun! Thanks for joining! xxx
